You need this app. You dont realize it yet, but you do. The old way of using your Mac is like staring at the sun. Whereas with Hazeover, its like staring at… a smaller sun. One which is warmer and nicer. If you like this app, try Displaperture (yes, thats the terrible pun of a name) which will make your screen corners rounded. Ultimate Mac Tweaks Forever.

I usually have 10+ windows open at a time and once in a while I would forget the active window and perform actions with the wrong one. This makes it very clear to me with which window I am working and I love it.

UPDATE: This is a great app when I’m focusing on whatever window I’m working on. My only issue is that pressing ⌘+M or ⌘+W does not cause HazeOver to deactivate. But the developer even reached out to me over Twitter to help me with this issue. The Application for the window you were working is still technically in the forground, so HazeOver does not disable. I would love to have an option where HazeOver deactivates when you press ⌘+M or ⌘+W so that all windows are visible. But for now, I will just excercise utilizing ⌘+H instead. I highly recommend this application since your workflow is probably different than mine anyways.

There are a few similar apps out there, but this is the one you want! Would love for a left click on the menu bar icon to perform a quick on/off toggle (like the old Caffeine app used to) and a right-click opens the menu dropdown.

I’ve had this app for a few years now and it keeps on getting better and better - the developer steadily improves it. In the world where we all have “too much” to sort through, this small app allows me to see instantly what I need to focus on - works great with multiple monitors too.

I love this utility but there are times I want to dim the entire screent/all windows past the default brightness settings that come on OS X, especially at night. Please add the ability to dim the entire screen and that will offer a lot more value to this wonderful app.

This is the type of simple improvement that Apple used to be known for but now ignores to focus on adding more complexity, skins, and yes, bugs. It’s something that seems so obvious in hindsight and offers improvement with no downside. Kudos!

This app is awesome to have. I have a 43” monitor and it can be overwhelming at times to manage all the windows without distractions and this fixed that completely so I can focus on what I am working on.

Even with Dark Mode activated, I had trouble viewing icons in the Menu bar and Dock. With HazeOver i can actually tell the icons apart.
